La Mesa, CA
La Mesa is one of my favorite cities in East County San Diego. Located about 20 miles east of Downtown San Diego.
La Mesa Real Estate for Sale ranges from $125,000 to a few million depending on the location. If you are looking for luxury real estate with views, Mount Helix is the place to be. Mt. Helix is located in the southern area of La Mesa and is actually a large hill (elevation about 1,000) where most of the luxury homes are located. Many of these properties have ocean views, mountain views and some of them have a 360 degree view of the area. It's truly spectacular.
Downtown La Mesa is a great area as well. There are plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from. Shopping favorites are Act II Women’s Resale, Antique Alley, Antiques @ The Village, The Aubrey Rose Tea Room, The Bouncing Bead, Collectiquity and The Country Loft. Restaurants include Brigantine La Mesa, Antica Trattoria, Tamarind Thai Restaurant, Mario's De La Mesa Restaurant, El Torito Mexican Grill, Chopsticks Inn Restaurant, Panera Bread, Bmh Italian Deli and Casa De Pico.
Throughout the year, La Mesa sponsors community events such as the Oktoberfest Street Fair, the Flag Day Parade and the Kid’s Care Fest. The Kid Care Fest features interactive art and hands-on activities for children as well as children’s health screening.
La Mesa’s Park and Recreations Department provides a variety of inexpensive classes where children and adults can learn to draw, paint, play tennis, dance, or join a walking club, along with many other activities. As you enjoy a community sponsored class, you can meet many of your neighbors and get acquainted. In addition to the classes and the downtown area, there are a great many walking and running paths to assist you in staying healthy.
For all you outdoor enthusiasts, try your hand at hiking nearby Cowles Mountain, located in the heart of Mission Trails Park in San Carlos.
